monitor backlight won't turn on when starting. running osx mavericks #121

This problem is intermittent and only started after upgrading to mavericks.
sometimes when i power on my computer the screen remains black. I can hear the
chime and see the power light, and I can see shadows of the login if i shine a
light at the screen. When I login with password, backlight turns on and
computer runs fine for a few weeks and then the problem reoccurs once again.
Genius bar says this is something he has never seen before and believes this
has to be a software problem. When he looked at the log in terminal he
indicated that it could be a problem with a kernel that this program is trying
to run.

Hi,

As I understood correctly, this bug is not stable. Theoretically it can be
because of nosleep, but I didn't see it before. What hardware do you have?

I have a mid 2010 mac book pro. The logic board and monitor were replaced with
factory spec parts (I originally thought it was a GPU or monitor problem so I
had these replaced) 2 months ago and I have a 250gb solid state HD that is not
stock. I deleted the no sleep application and so far it hasn't happened again.
