Some WADs just don't work with PrBoom4Android. After a long break due to
personal reasons, I am back to working on this project and will be releasing an
update very soon!

I know this thread is a little old but I figured out how to get Chex Quest to
run with prboom4android on my Google Nexus 7. I grabbed a copy of chexquestwiz
from this website: dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/wiz.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,320 and used
that chex.wad file.
Here is what I did:
1. Download and install prboom4android on your Android device.
2. Run prboom4android and have it download the freedoom.wad (Note: for some
reason I had to do this to get other .wads to show up in the drop down list
even after I copied them to the sdcard/doom folder). Make sure prboom4android
is working okay.
3. Download chexquestwiz.rar from above site. I downloaded it onto a Windows 7
machine and used 7-zip to extract the .rar file.
4. Use a utility program (I use ES File Explorer for Android) to copy two files
from the extracted chexquestwiz.rar file into the sdcard/doom folder on your
Android device. From the extracted .rar file there will be a wad folder with
chex.wad in it. Copy this to the Android device sdcard/doom folder.
5. To get the Chex Quest sounds and music also copy prboom.wad from the
extracted .rar file to sdcard/doom (rename the existing prboom.wad file if you
wish to preserve it and go back to the old doom sounds).
6. Run prboom4android and click the iwad selector in the upper left. You should
see chex.wad. Select that and press Play. Good luck!

Thanks so much mkfamily! That at least gets Chex Quest 1 working. Dunno why
that guy didn't port Chex Quest 2 or 3 though.
