Any one tried with Channels DVR? #27

I was hoping that this might allow me to use a Sat>IP box, via TVHeadend, with Channels DVR - which doesn't support Sat>IP.

Just curious to know if anyone has tried Channels DVR? Before I spend hours on something known not to work :)

From initial setup/tests, Channels seems to report the below (it finds the HDHomeRun device):

HDHomeRun DUAL (1010C032)
0 channels on 10.8.6.30
Please use the Channels app on tvOS or iOS to update this legacy HDHR to the latest firmware (if available), and then scan for channels.

Once the scan is complete, click here.

So I'm not sure if it's expecting a newer device, although from checking the Channels forum as far as I can see the DUAL is still supported.

I'm new to how a HDHomeRun works (i.e I wasn't sure if I should be scanning from Channels, which doesn't seem to have the option, or the HDHomeRun tools), so I installed the official tools, can scan for channels, it finds them from the mapping list.... but channels still reports 0 channels in its UI.

Tried installing the iOS channels App as recommended in the message, but it reports that setup is not finished... so back to square one :)

Moment I clicked Post, I found the below... something else to look at:

Probably a Channels Bug:

I suspect it's because the 'firmware' is older, it's trying to force an update before letting you complete setup initially.

Hi @iMiMx ,

We use this Emulator in a LAN with some hardware HDHR physical devices. All tools that we use with original HDHR devices are working with this emulator too. So, please check first if your target application supports the homeruns devices.

Futhermore, we are using this emulator to translate SAT>IP servers with DVB-S2 tuners to DVB-T "emulated" frequencies over the HDHR protocol. Using them with this emu as a proxy we're running different BDA apps (including the Windows Media Center) with the sat transponders tuned by the SAT>IP servers. So the project is robust enough.

Regards.

For the record I am trying to modify hdhomerun-live project on github for working with IPTV but for now it's finding 0 channels, SiliconDust API is really weird
