No links in citations anymore #580

Hello,

Links are no longer appearing in the citations, we use pubmed to create the citations. They were earlier appearing with anchor text [Pubmed] which was perfect, then few months back the entire URL to pubmed started appearing, and today, no link at all!

I'll be happy to send more details about the WP environment if you need.

thanks

Can you post a detailed set of steps for me to reproduce the issue?

One thing I will mention off the bat though is that in one of the past updates (I believe it was the one where I added Gutenberg support) I opted to stop appending the [pubmed] link at the end of the citations from pubmed because it technically makes the citation style invalid. Instead, I only link to the citation if the citation style explicitly calls for there to be a link.
