opkg fails to download any package on Linux Angstrom #90

Hi,

I have an embedded device (Beagleboard xM) with Linux Angstrom 2011.
The processor is 1GHz ARM Cortex -A8.
The only command I am able to use in order to download/install any programms or
packages is the opkg. The distribution came without any apt-get command.
The basic problem we are facing, me and my team, is that every time we use opkg
to download the necessary packages (specifically the ones needed for Java),
downloading fails with no explanation at all! It just gives an error detail:
HTTP response code said error.
Actually, it fails to download anything! It just fails...
Am I missing something?

Sorry if this is not considered to be a bug, but honestly I don't know where
else to post... I have been trying for a week to fix this, and I am not a Linux
expert at all!

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Marina

This sounds like an Angstrom bug. If you're still experiencing it, please
report it to Angstrom.

Feel free to re-open this if you have more info that suggests that the problem
really is with opkg.
