Decoding FT8 with RTL-SDR #80

Hello,

We all know that running the gqrx or cubicsdr on the raspberry pi3 is consuming CPU resources. I wonder it there is a command line for the rtl-sdr that can enable it to tune into Upper Side Band and pipe the output into wjstx.

I have found some info that I have tried (with standard raspbian image) but the result wans´t succesfull. here are the two links:

1) rtl-sdr.com quite old: https://www.rtl-sdr.com/tutorial-setting-up-a-low-cost-qrp-ft8-jt9-wspr-etc-monitoring-station-with-an-rtl-sdr-v3-and-raspberry-pi-3/?fbclid=IwAR3sAe7Ep1WLAmUEHUQbaaCQNmXJZ-dFL1M4-tOEAKx6ZZ7otimFnY5QzjQ

and 2) https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/99o91f/using_a_rtlsdr_dongle_to_receive_ft8/

I am sure it is possible but I don´t have the necessary linux skills so perhaps someone can help here.

Thank you & 73! DE1CTL

@catalinalb I think this would be better addressed on the Community Support Forum on Groups.io: https://groups.io/g/Ham-Pi

Please try raising this issue there and many other people can help you. I am just one person.
