We have a compelling prototype app, but its functionality is in some cases coupled with private/contracted data. Therefore, we aren't allowed to publish the app to the general public for demonstration and feedback.
We ought to discuss the critical path to a public version, which could serve as a "bootstrap" stub to which private data could easily be added. A few obstacles come to mind:
Obtaining parcel-level shapefiles (These were given to us in confidence from the County?)
Obtaining open, parcel-level real estate market data. (Used in summer 2013 in partnership with DePaul Institute for Housing Studies)
Implementing a relatively convenient interface for developers/forkers to add datasets/tilesets/geometries
This will be a large undertaking.
