Hi, I see this script hasn't been touched for 3-4 years... so does is make sense to deploy it on latest Chaos Chalmer OpenWrt or OpenWrt already has bufferbload under control?

sqm-scripts is part of openwrt now and is actively developed, so, no.

The only extra thing the debloat scripts did was also lower buffering on ath9k derived wifi chips which helps on some workloads, but not enough. There are also some choice log entries as to the amount of science and experimentation we did way back then that I'd like to preserve.

About the only other reason debloat still exists was that it contained stuff to automate things like qfq setup, which was one of the stepping stones towards fq-codel, which is much simpler than qfq is. I am still hoping that an easier to configure qfq+fq_codel arrives one day.
