I didnt see this issue in the list. Sorry if I missed it.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Created host in app to match XBMC server's network settings
2. Setup port forwarding on router for custom port (tried 8080 with same
results)
3. Web based XBMC controls work properly

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Receive the following error when opening app and when clicking Try again to
Connect button:
-----------------------------
HTTP 401 Unauthorized error
The supplied username and/or password is incorrect. Please check your settings.
-----------------------------

Now Playing playlist section produces the same error.

Remote controls actually work as expected. Playback and navigation controls
work great. Seems like Im just missing the playlist and some of the other
features of the app.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
version: 0.8.3-beta1 rev 686

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Moto Droid 2.1 stock

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
#9.11 r26017
# Dec 23 2009

Please provide any additional information below.

I tried using the default port 8080 but received the same error.

So basically nothing works but the remote control? Did you try disabling
user+password in XBMC?

Removing the password allows everything to work. I guess that will work. Thanks

I have the same issue, but removing the password did not fix anything. Still
receive "HTTP 401: Unauthorized" error message.

Using Same Droid x version, xbmc app version, PC software version

Tried to uninstall and reinstall app and use the default username: vbmc and
left Password blank. This also did not work and received the error message.
Any suggestions?

Did you clear the PW in XBMC or only in the remote? At least if you clear the
password in xbmc it should connect without any problem.

I cleared the PW in both and even left default username. I double checked that
both usernames matches character for character (All caps) and still receive the
error. I also have uninstalled and reinstalled both the PC software and APP,
triple checked my IP, and confirmed my wireless connection to my network. Left
all ports as suggested on Help string

Hmm. The default username is in lower case if I'm not totally mistaken.

My Fault, I should have clarified, I used the smaller case default one first on
both, it didn't work, after reading "Android phone auto capitalizes the
username though, so make sure to use all caps in XBMC itself when setting it. "
 I changed both to Caps.

Are you able to reach the webinterface of xbmc through the browser?

It's Working! It was an IP problem on my laptop. NOT an XBMC issue! Awesome
software / app!
