XBMC remote not giving control of XBMC. Connection is fine #748

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using XBMC remote in remote mode

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For XBMC to control XBMC

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
1.0.9 rev 1009

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Galaxy S5

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
13.2 on Macbook Pro Yosemite

Please provide any additional information below.
The app connects fine as I can see the host information on the app front screen 
but the app is unable to control XBMC in remote mode. I have enabled the event 
server and I can control it fine via the web interface.
