This reverts commit be68b13398cb03416d0af2baef3ef7863bcd27ad.

perhaps in CI the hoped for and not specified version of "cosmiconfig" is not version ^8.3.0 which can support .ts files
in v8.0.0 only rc, .js, .cjs, .json, .yaml, .yml are supported
