I also get the "Initialization error" when trying to play a flac file, no
matter if
I'm using a bluetooth headset or not.
Mp3's are working fine Andless.
HTC Desire, Android 2.01

I am also getting this error. When I play the .flac file without a bluetooth
headset
attached, it works fine. When I pair with the bluetooth then I either get
"Initialization Error" or it just doesn't play.

Same here, andless not working in motorola milestone, same "Initialization
error"
message appears whenever I try to open a file in a not native format.
If I can make something to help to find the problem just let me know.

I'm on a rooted droid (Bugless Beast) 2.1, and I get the "initialization error"
as
well, but only when I enable direct hardware access. No error with that setting
disabled.

Indeed, I tried it without the direct hardware access and it worked like a
charm,I
did not tried it with the bluethoot headphones tough.

Ok, tried it with bluethoot headphones and it showed the "initialization error"
message, again if I can make something to help to fix this error let me know, I
ll do
it gladly.
I am not an android programer (yet, I am a beginner in Java) if I was I would
take
the source code and fix it myself but...

A workaround I've found for this: Start the music playing before "connecting"
the bluetooth headset. Not all controls on my headset work even with this
workaround, just volume and power off.

I also have gotten this error for both FLAC and ALAC files. Like bierdrache
said, if you start the music file (type) playing before you plugin the
bluetooth headset, then connect to the bluetooth device, playback of that
format works fine. To switch from ALAC to FLAC files, I must disconnect from
bluetooth, start the other format, then reconnect.

I have seen similar issues.
Nexus One (850/1900)
Rodriguestyle Froyo or Leofroyo (tried both)
Motorola S9HD
In normal mode it plays well, though headset controls do not work. I do have
to start the app with BT disconnected, play a track, then reconnect. I can
skip tracks and so forth with in the app, then in direct access I lose this
ability and get the initialization error between songs. I would also like to
point out that I tried Meridian for this, and had similar symptoms. So I'm
wondering if its an android/froyo issue.

It seems to work when I disable direct hardware access option also (I don't
even know what this option does or why I enabled it). I have yet to try it
directly plugged into my headset or into my AUX port (which is my goal here) of
my car. I will check it today.
By the way, I have an HTC Hero

I met the same, and things well now.
I agree with doaneramma!
It's seems need to pair the bluetooth headset before playing APE.
I'm using sony X10.

Same error on Samsung Vibrant, stock Android 2.1, using plugged in earphones or
phone speaker, no bluetooth.
Thought my flac on Android prayers were answered, but guess not...
Please, please fix this.
Thanks.

This is a dupe of issue #23; check that issue out for the details on the fix
that has been proposed; at this point we need the project owners to commit that
fix to cvs and rebuild as a new version...

The modified version posted under issue #23 on August 21, 2010 fixes this issue
for my Moment.

If you already connected to bluetooth - shows error. If you reboot, start
playing and then connect to bluetooth, then it's ok.
