3DR 915Mhz Radio Link not re-established after brown out #780

I have been setting up my configuration of my APM2.5 with 3DR Radio Telemetry
link.
I've noticed what seems to be quite a serious problem. I am powering my plane
using my Lab PSU which limits current. If the motor kicks in and triggers a
current limit and triggers the APM to reset, the telemetry link will not be
established.
To re-link I have to unplug the ground radio and back in again, and cycle the
power to the APM2.5 (and therefore power down the air radio), then the link is
reestablished.
Any ideas why after a brown out the link fails. Is this an issue with the
APM2.5 or APM Mission Planner not sending the correct command to reset the
link? or is it something i need to configure in the radios? i.e. they only
'pair' when turned on at the same time?

[WARNING: Please make sure the prop is removed!]

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Power Plane using a LAB PSU to limit current @ 12Volts
2. Power up plane and APM Panner on Laptop
3. Connect the telemetry link and check all is OK
4. Apply, then release throttle to cause 'brown out'.
5. Wait for link to be re-established (This part we never complete)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The link is re-establihed after brownout of APM.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
APM 2.6.3, APM Planner V1.2.14, Windows7x64

Please provide any additional information below.

I realise I can avoid this problem by powering the APM with a separate supply.
And unless this issue is fixed, this seems like the only option for safe flight.

Ok, so now i am seeing the behaviour I expect. Brown out and MP & APM
reconnects without me having to do anything. The only thing I have changed
since the last time is that now I have a FrSky radio installed on Tx & Rx?
Maybe the TGY9X standard RX is sending out some crazy signals when it's just
browned out, and sending the APM into a 'tailspin', per se. Hence the MAVLINK
loss (it's not the link, but the APM is confused beyond recovery). This seems
most plausible now.
