I am very anxious to get this fixed. I'd love it if someone could step up, as we don't currently have internal resources to allocate here .

Reopening and pinging @sdougbrown

sdougbrown commented 10 years ago

they don't suck as much as they used to, but they do seem a bit wider than I'd like.

zekiel commented 10 years ago

They're just hard to parse e.g. figuring out the hierarchy of comments to comments. Maybe deserving of a total revamp at some point // @chrismorast but we could get a lot of value out of simplifying or removing the horizontal lines or the way we denote the thread being replied to (top of the heirarchy)

Anything to be said for a well laid out plain text mail?

zekiel commented 10 years ago

@jbarrett as a total replacement or option?

jbarrett commented 10 years ago

Replacement.

zekiel commented 10 years ago

hmm, i'm not a big fan of the comment view in notif. emails as-is, since it's difficult to parse with the eye. I'm not sure that plaintext would help that but I do think it should be an option
