Add/fix license #58

Closed anarresian closed 7 years ago

anarresian commented 8 years ago

Changes:

Please note that I assumed that the license in /templates was intended for the documentation, so I moved it to the root directory to signal it applies to the whole project. If it wasn't, please advise: what other license(s) were intended for the rest?

(Another option could be to choose a Creative Commons for documentation, because they're designed for text/images/content.)

@aanarres thanks for helping to improve our docs!

I've just made a similar change to the repo, but kept the LICENSE file without a .md extensions as it's not meant to be interpreted as MarkDown content 👍

Thanks @moollaza it's nice to see.

I used to think it's a good thing to also document the license in the readme (the second commit), for potential contributors to be able to get notification of your Duckies expectations on the terms of their own work they submit.

However, maybe it's not a big deal now that github presents a license notification on the repo, and generally because Apache includes its own text on that.
