Do Not Protect tplinkrepeater.net #12

Open PrSunflower opened 3 years ago

Hello, I have a TP-Link repeater at home and the management website can either be accessed by its IPv4 address, or -the easiest way- by typing tplinkrepeater.net in the URL.

This should give access to the login page:

However when the browser extension is activated my computer cannot connect to the website (probably because DDG forces HTTPS which the repeater doesn't have) :

Even when I manually erase the "S" and press |Enter| the website stays the same: https://tplinkrepeater.net/

Would it be possible to fix that?

Hello, I was just wondering what this inactivity could mean. Is there another privileged way to communicate bugs?

Concerning my request, I can test any proposed solution if needed 🙂

Hi there, apologies for the late response on this. I'll take steps to remove tplinkrepeater.net from our upgrade list. It may take a couple weeks for this fix to go out due to the holidays. In the meantime, if you open the extension pop up while on tplinkrepeater.net and click the toggle next to 'Site Privacy Protection', then navigate to http://tplinkrepeater.net that should prevent the automatic redirect to https.

Let me know if this works for you. If you find that you're still seeing the site upgrade to https automatically, it's possible your browser has cached the upgrade.

Thanks a lot @dharb 😁

No worries I know this feature and I already did this 😄

Thank you for your assistance, if you want me to test the fix once it's out just tell me 🙂
