Masonry works like this: Every column has the same number of rows and the distances between them is the the same. If one of those columns has lets say 5 items that are shorter than the other 5 next to it it will look like that.
What I cannot tell from your screenshot if that is the case here.
I am having an issue with the masonry layout. The distribution of elements is uneven and has created a very short column and really long ones. The article content has some short elements and some long elements but from by understanding masonry should try to distribute this evenly based on content. Attach is a zoomed out screenshot to show the drastic difference between column length. Masonry was the main reason I bought the pro version and this feature seems to not be functioning properly.
