Sorry for being the one creating this pull request. I've seen the discussion but I'm still not sure why this still hasn't been merged.
Is it because most part of this fix was written by @damienmauchamp who no one's been able to contact?
I think it'd be better for everyone to get a fix through auto-update, rather than have to go through GitHub issues, forks, gists and unmerged commits in search of a working script.
