Access restricted to IP addresses or ranges #10

As a collection owner I want to be able to restrict access to components, items, and collections to one or more IP addresses or ranges. I would like to be able to select from some pre-configured choices like Duke-network only, Duke network and VPN, and Rubinstein reading room. Population of these pick lists need not be done by collection owners. A repository administrator must be able to add, remove, and edit entries in the pick list and for those edits to propagate to the objects that carry this access restriction.

@jt112 Is the purpose here to permit anonymous access in those locations? I generally don't recommend using IP restrictions because IPs tend to be dynamically allocated and the ranges themselves also change. Let's discuss the use cases in more detail to determine if IP is really the best option. @coblej

Yes, that is the idea. I've been approached by a couple of groups who want to move materials online and are bound to limit access to on-campus users which Shibboleth wouldn't do.
