Game doesn't start (Steam Linux Native) #45

Description

Running the game (using both steam-native and steam-runtime) gets stuck before opening a properly. I can see the game open in the system task bar, the primary monitor screen gets glichy (like a fullscreen window opened, but there's nothing rendering inside it). No black or white screen, and no audio either. The only way to close it, is through the steam interface. Running it though the command line, the same thing happens, and no output is visible. Inspecting the process, it shows usage of 24 threads and ~150mb of RAM, but no CPU usage.

I also can't play the windows version through proton, since it asks for DirectX11 (and my system doesn't support Vulkan, for DXVK).

System

OS: ArchLinux Kernel: 6.1.21-1-lts Resolution: 1366x768, 1440x900 (primary) WM: Openbox CPU: Intel i3 M370 (2 cores, 4 threads) @ 2.399GHz GPU: Intel Core Processor (Integrated Graphics) OpenGL renderer: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics (ILK) OpenGL version: 2.1 Mesa 23.0.0 OpenGL ES version: 2.0 Mesa 23.0.0 EGL version: 1.5 Vulkan: Not supported

Jumping in to say I have a similar issue (except with a black screen but otherwise inoperable), and also happy 10th birthday to Papers, Please!

Launching via the Steam UI makes the whole screen black but unresponsive and without audio. Launching it via CLI with the 720p switch opens it windowed, but still unresponsive. I notice when launching it windowed an initial process opens, closes, and then almost immediately a Papers Please <2> window opens after.

OS: Manjaro Kernel: 6.1.41-1-MANJARO CPU: Intel i7-1165G7

Running Wayland/KDE if that helps.
