MSU: Hangs after installing 10.8.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Choose to install 10.8.4 update from MSU.app
2. Wait...
3. still waiting... after 2.5 hours

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the update to take up to 10 minutes.
There are 25 system_profiler processes each forked from the MSU PID.
MSU never left the 'Finishing' state.

What version of the Munki tools/InstallOSpkg tools are you using? On what
version of OS X?
0.8.3.1678 on 10.8.3

Please provide any additional information below.
I pressed the button at 10:30 and waited until 13:00 before killing the MSU 
process - then restarting.

Here is the email I composed at 12:00 to the MacEnterprise list:
We seem to get stuck at "Finishing" for over an hour on some of our
machines ... At time of writing (12:00) I am still waiting for mine to finish
(1hr 20mins since pressing "logout and install")
Two of our users have reported waiting "over an hour" and "about 45 minutes"

A manual install onto an iMac 11,2 with 10.8.3 seems to take about 6.5
minutes...

I am pretty sure the install has finished on my mac, foreman reports
that I have 10.8.4 but there are five "system_profiler" processes
taking 30% CPU each and munki still shows "Finishing" and twenty more at 0% CPU.
