External SSA and SUB/IDX subtitles not supported #44

1. What steps will reproduce the problem?

Open an AVI (or other file?) that has associated sub/idx or ssa subtitles.

2. What is the expected output?

The expected result would be for Movist to recognise the associated
subtitles and allow one to enable/disable them.

3. What do you see instead?

Movist does not recognise these subtitles at all when they are present in
the same directory as the AVI file, nor is it possible to specify a sub/idx
or ssa file from File > Open Subtitle Files.

3. What version of the product are you using?

Movist 0.6.1

4. On what operating system?

Mac OS X 10.5.7

5. Please provide any additional information below.

I have not tried this with non-AVI files but i have no reason to believe
that the behaviour would not be the same for any video format. SSA
subtitles embedded in MKVs also do not function, but there is a separate
issue reported for this.

Update on this!

As of 0.6.2, SUB/IDX and SSA subtitles are now nominally supported, but i'm
having
issues with the one SSA movie i have: It appears to crash Movist upon load. If i
rename the SSA file to something else so that Movist doesn't recognise it, the
video
loads fine. VLC has no problems at all.

Here is the video information, in case that matters:

container: AVI
video: XviD
audio: MP3

I can also provide the files upon request.

Please send the .ssa file (not .avi) to cocoable@gmail.com.
We'll check it. Thank you. :-)
