All my featured images suddenly disappeared #207

All the featured images, which were resized with the Timthumb script, suddenly 
disappeared. I've already changed my chmod settings, but nothing works. Does 
anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

The weird thing is: the first 4 hours the images DID show up, and then, 
suddenly, they dissapeared. This is the second time I have this problem. After 
the first time, I started all over again, I made a new database, reinstalled 
wordpress. At first, it worked, but after a few hours, they dissapeared!

Well, I just called my hosting service and explained the problem. They said it 
had something to do with my chmod settings, which I changed to 777 or 755 
because that's what I read online! They changed it back to 644! I also asked if 
the GD library was installed, but that wasn't the problem!
