UI Color Change - Enhancement #106

Would it be possible to add the ability to change the secondary color
(currently orange) to a custom color?

It's possible but would need code changes, mainly since it'll need a bunch of
options added to make it user-modifiable which is quite a bit of work.
Currently it inherits colors from the system theme in addition to the
keyboard-specific colors. I am looking into making it more themeable.

If you can't wait, upgrading to a Honeycomb or ICS device will use stylish blue
automatically, see screenshot on the Google+ page:

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I'd offer to help out, but you're using
native code, which I don't understand too well. Do you know if there's a way to
change the system theme colors in a way that it would change orange to that
electric blue?

I'm on an ICS device and my suggested words are still orange--I think you
realize this because you said "I need to replace the old and boring Gingerbread
Orange with cool ICS blue" on December 19, after your above comment.

I'd love to see the suggested word move to the center as well. (as with the
default ICS keyboard--makes reaching it much easier with my Galaxy Nexus)

Also, I've noticed that the popups for selecting alternate symbols from holding
down a key are orange as well as the spacebar.

Yes, this is still a work in progress, I'm planning to revisit the color
handling for better consistency. It's a bit tricky since some of the orange
colors are from image bitmaps which take extra work to recolor.

About the suggestion display - I'm considering merging the ICS keyboard's
version of suggestion support, but that's some way off in the future.

Would it be possible to use the same theme changes as the stock keyboard? I.e.
I have a themes that affect the stock keyboard but northern hackers keyboard.

I'm using an ICS theme called Holo Red, which makes most things red. This sadly
too isn't carried over by hacker keyboard.

Would love to see that either the keyboard adheres to whatever the system
default is for keyboard high light color, or one could simply be set by the
user. Thanks!

I have started hue-shifting all the orange to blue in the bitmaps. I should
note that I also edited the locked keys (e.g., shift/lock=capslock) to be fully
colored in background instead of just a light somewhere because the tiny
indicator icons are too small, and also because my thumbs are in the way of
seeing any of them.

Is this still an issue? I'm running Market v. 1.33 on my phone (Android 4.1.2)
and playing with source c075622f2e6c on my laptop.
