Changes

This has a changes for dependency updates and a few small qol updates

Update Spring to 5.3.27
Use PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer
Update Hibernate to 5.4.33
Update mysql-connector to 8.0.33
Remove unnecessary boxing
Use valueOf where appropriate
Fix string equality check

Testing

The only thing I've done with this is test without running integration tests, so

mvn verify -DskipITs

I also wasn't 100% certain about deploying this, but the changes here are very small so I think everything should be ok.
