Dualbooting just to grab itemsets is terrible

dustinblackman commented 7 years ago

So you're running League on Linux? With Wine I'm assuming?

Nefari0uss commented 7 years ago

Is there a reason why Championify wouldn't work under wine?

dustinblackman commented 7 years ago

@Nefari0uss It would work the same as Chrome running in wine.

Enerccio commented 7 years ago

Yes, more specifically under play on linux. It works quite well

dustinblackman commented 7 years ago

And why not run Championify under it as well? Handling a new operating system that doesn't have a default install path for the game can make it a tad difficult to support all features.

dustinblackman commented 7 years ago

Decided to bring this one back since v2 has more issues running under Wine.

@dustinblackman The 2.1.3 client is running great with Wine 2.21. The installer still isn't working, though. It fails to launch completely. The League installer works fine for example, and Wine even drops off the desktop shortcut in your XDG applications folder. Anything I could do to help troubleshoot? :)

Squirrels is pretty dependent on stuff only available in Windows 8+, so I'm unsure of the approach to take. I plan on ditching Squirrels completely, and releasing linux binaries in version 3.0.0. You can monitor the branch if you like, but I'm only putting time in to it when I have some free, plus in the mood to do frontend stuff.
