I found this news about mame 0.72 ported to xbox360 and looks like this one
still have decent speed so why not using this version ?

There is a problem when using OpenGL and Mortal Kombat newest revision 5,
screen is tilted like this /////// instead of ||||||| and in older 4.0 version
of the game its good and super smooth.

With all that being said i really wish you would change rom names inside zip to
match the ones which are available on most sites, those are only names and i
spend half of the day to make wakuwaku7 work and renamed roms inside but then i
ran this clrmame and your dat file and it screwed the names and removed some
files... its really painful to use and its hit and miss, you never know if it
really converted properly or not.
Please at least do it for neogeo and CPS1 cause these are most popular ones,
these are only rom names, its better to change it inside one emu than force
thousands of people to fix names of hundreds roms inside zips to make the games
work.Clrmame just doesnt work like it should, you know it cause you need to
have basically whole romset for CPS1 to fix all games,roms are spread into
different zip archives in new versions, its one big headache.Why you cant be
compatible with new names ? Its only rom names inside capcom driver.IF no one
wants to rename these inside drivers then i could do it.

I can confirm the tilted screen problem with Mortal Kombat revision 5 in
OpenGL, and that it does not happen in software rendering mode. Don't know if
other games are affected. I can send you the ROM if you don't have it, so you
can test it.

Maybe is a buggy gl driver. I have seen some different artifact with other
devices. Send me v6 to test anyway.

ok.. i tested and there is a problem with it...
maybe is the game resolution 295x254 which is really strange... attach me v4 to
test it...
maybe rounding roms resolutions could be a fix...
i have to do a texture power of 2 and then upload subtextures to gpu for
performance reasons...
