Adjusting workshop shape for different audiences #13

The laundry example appeared to be an excellent generic activity that translated to a diverse audience. I really appreciated your effort to find activities that would work across cultures and different professional backgrounds.

I wonder what you might change in terms of overall shape of the workshop if you had a more clearly defined audience - such as data skills trainers from a particular region.

Could this workshop be adapted to focus on 1 type of learner per iteration: eg

Could also consider requirements for participants to bring a lesson and learner persona to work on during the workshop, ie, flipped classroom pre-work?

Another thought branch: how would this workshop go being delivered across 3-4 x weekly sessions of 90 minutes? Building in some unconscious composting time could help learners reflect on persona development and applying backwards design principles to their lessons.

Realistically, these all fit into the generic persona for the workshop - the difference is in what they'd be able to teach, but I'm not sure I'd like to segregate that way...

Yes for materials they're developing, BUT I'd get people to collaborate on a generic task for the workshop itself. Peer learning needs to happen for this stuff to work (ideally in a group of 5-6!).

We could do 3 sessions of what we did (except expanded with the formative assessments), and the fourth as a reflection on the individual projects people have. Albeit at the moment we don't have a forum for when we plan to/can reprise this again...

ARDC could quite likely provide a forum for you to run this again if we can work out a suitable timeframe.
