For that second point, I would say you have two options:
a) write an index.md file to serve as a landing page that links out to the slides, or
b) convert the material in the slides to episodes as would be seen in other Carpentries lessons
In the longer term, I'd suggest that option b is preferable, but I recognise it requires significantly more time investment pre-submission. I'm planning further conversations to explore how we could provide the standard episode pages alongside the slides (e.g. under "Slides" in the Extras menu...) but I don't have anything to suggest on that front just yet.
