Tie Breaking #10

Open GlyphyIszi opened 8 years ago

For game-ending conditions that are not reliant upon score (e.g.: "Make a Haiku" or a Game Timer) we need to decide how ties should be handled.

dvdfreitag commented 8 years ago

Or, we could simply call it a draw?

GlyphyIszi commented 8 years ago

Do we want to allow ties at all, or should there be some sort of tie-breaking extra round(s) ("Sudden Death Overtime")?

If we allow Sudden Death Overtime:

If we did a tie breaker round, the Card Czar would progress to the next person as per usual. In such a case only the tied parties would be included.

GlyphyIszi commented 8 years ago

But if one of the tied parties was to be the next Czar, they could not be allowed to do so in the tie-breaking round. That does need to be built-in.

GlyphyIszi commented 8 years ago

And what if the whole table is tied? (Unlikely case, but still needs to be considered.) Unless they're playing with "God is Dead" it would be a little unfair to the Card Czar for the tiebreaker round.

I suppose in the event of a tie with everyone, no Awesome Point is awarded and the game continues.

GlyphyIszi commented 8 years ago

I'm confused. We're talking about the game-ending condition (time or something non-score related) being reached while the whole table is tied in score. How does not awarding an Awesome Point and continuing the game fix the problem?
