Job Growth Front End Improvements #67

Closed bgruswitz closed 2 years ago

General request

The source data for employment has changed from a mix of BLS's QCEW and Census's CBP to just BEA's employment. Beyond the consistency and the single release date, this provides the opportunity to look at a couple classifications of employment that the other sources didn't offer.

This will create a need to change all source captions on the page. All sources should be "Source: Bureau of Economic Analysis Total Full-Time and Part-Time Employment by NAICS Industry."

Only the 1st and 3rd charts will change the field names and labels they use from the CSV files.

Chart 1: Job Growth Rate by Geography

Title Change: Job Growth Rate by Type

Value type by CSV

Geography should move from the labels/legend to a first dropdown and the Value Type dropdown should come second, and the value type will determine the CSV file used.

Source CSVs:

@mmolta this looks good. Thanks!

Could we experiment with shortening the longest character industries until they stack into three columns instead of 2, so that the chart area has more height?

You could try -"Professional, scientific, tech services" -"Arts, entertain., food, accommodations"
