what did you change to get it working again?

This used to be a big problem on Android/Apple apps. If you updated ha from the app you could be stuck with this problem. Nothing exept to completely killing both data and cashe helped but it never appeared if you didn't upgrade HA from your app. You got it on the web gui as well but a simple F5 solved the situation. Now, the problem have changed. It can appear spontaneous, at a random startup but it's often enough to refresh or kill app and restart. Somtimes it's persistent and you have to try several times. So, it's more frekvent now but not such a big problem as it used to be.

UPDATE: I discovered it works when I login remotely on my phone and local on my tablet using the app. It is the MacBook that is bringing up the error.

I did not know any better and I did upgrade from my app. I have no idea how to get this to work.

Nowadays no big issue. Just kill the app and restart it. Probably will work on first try but sometimes you have to try more then once. I think it has be in a certain state when killed to force a reload of cache at start. You can also take the safe road and go to settings-apps.... And clean cache but usually its easier to just kill/restart then to navigate down through settings.

How do you kill the app?

Depend on your os. I use a pixel and in that version of android you can swipe slowly from bottom of page and upwards. The you get a "list" of all active apps and you can swipe to kill them. I don't know what you have and as this is a system function and not an app function, it differs widely. You can always google "kill app in xxx mobile" to get how you can do it.

I am on a Mac and killed the browser and restarted. Still have the same error. It is working on my phone and iPad. I also tested my phone on cell service and remoted in and it worked as well. It must be the MacBook system. I tried the Brave browser and could not log into HA. So much for that and I am positive the Brave issue is something else and not needed by me.

Then you are not running an app at all. You are looking at a web-page!

On a browser, F5 usually clears/reloads the cache. Shit+F5 can also work. If this is not applicable on your browser, I can not help you any further. Know nothing about mac and the only mac in the house was concerted to Linux on the first day.
