Backspace and Delete key handling #31

feature

backspace and del keypress handling working.
- del replaces current character with space and current character retains focus.
- backspace replaces current character with space and previous character focussed where possible. Jumps to end of previous segment for mult-segment clue.

refactor

Some logic extracted to separate functions where reused or to improve code readability. Preliminary work for support of multiple keyboard shortcut collections.
