Menu button wont work on next click

when the menu button is clicked, the menu will expand displaying links to all the pages of the site. But when the user clicks on any of these links and the page redirected, the next time the user clicks on the Menu button again, the page wont respond. the page needs to be refreshed in order for this button to work.

steps:

• click menu button
• select any link (e.g. messages)
• Click on Menu button again (wont work)
• refresh the page
• Click on the Menu button again (works again)
