Install signs "Pedestrians in Roadway Next 1 Mile" at those same two locations. See #4 for possible locations

Caltrans:

we have proposed/updated the pedestrian crossing signage north and south of these segments in both approaches, as pedestrian will cross Hwy 1 at where they park in NB-1 shoulder. Please be noted that Coastal Commision play a vital part of review on the new proposed signs along coastal highway, and thus Caltrans has to implement a project through the environmental reviewing process to allow Coastal Commision to review upon. Therefore, these signs will take up to 2-3 years to be installed as a normal project would takes. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
