November was a calmer month compared to October but I achieved some important goals, which I’m excited to share 😄
Achievements
Here, I’ll share the goal followed by the related achievement of the month after the arrow.
Financial:
Save $8,321.74 by Dec. 31st, 2018 -> saved $10,283.1 🎉
I blew my goal out of the 💧 and almost saved $2K more than I had hoped, a month early too! This feels so rewarding. I am thankful for having the financial ability to save this much and hit my goal. I hope before the end of the year I can save another $1,200 to hit my stretch goal. 💰
Intellectual:
Read 10 Books-> Finished the “Learning GraphQL” Book 📕
A friend I met at ReactConf2018 gave me this book and so I added it to my list. It was a quick read (mostly technical). It ended up being number 10 so I can mark that off ✅
Great book by the way! Definitely recommend if you’re interested in GraphQL.
Professional:
Grow Twitter Following to 2,000 -> 2,534 (307 new followers) 😱
I hit this goal last month but I’m excited to see it climb! I hope I can continue to connect with people in the tech community and share relevant content/resources. 🙌🏼
Twilio published my blog post 🎉! I was really happy about this because it solved a very practical use case: being able to lookup phone numbers on the go. It was my first time using a serverless function too, which is a neat technology!
Physical:
Squat 250lbs -> Squatted 235lbs x 2 reps 💪🏼
I’m almost to my goal! My trainer says I’ll definitely hit this before the end of December 🤓
Bench press 200lbs -> 2 reps of 185lbs 💪🏼
It’s taken me a looooong time to increase my bench press. I felt proud of myself for finally lifting more than 180lbs. This was a big achievement! 🏋🏼♂️
Updates
A few new things or changes.
100 hours of yoga by May 18th -> CorePower Yoga Membership 🧘🏼♂️
After my fiancè telling me I should do yoga, I finally signed up for a membership at CorePower. And I have to say — she was right — yoga is amazing! 🙂
It makes me feel so good after! My goal (which is more of a 2019 goal) is to do 100 hours by our wedding day in May.
