Conventional terminology or simplification of known terms? #17

Should we use conventional terminology that has been popularised by large-scale publishing platforms and will therefore be already known to a large number of people? Or should we aim to use more descriptive names that lower the barriers for entry for completely new people?

A good example of this is the term 'slug' in Wordpress, which is used as part of routes to denote what comes after the / in the URL, e.g. www.example.com/slug-goes-here:

Agree 100% that many terms need to be either simplified or clearly explained. :+1:
