Fascinating podcast episode. worth listening to again. Highly recommend it. Main takeaways from my first listen which I've already implemented:

  1. Exercise in the morning if you can. 🏃

I do 2 mins of (HIIT) Bodyweight exercises (pushups, situps, squats and stretches) before weighing myself. The cognitive benefits of a few mins of exercise last 2 hours. i.e. go for a short but intense run before an exam!! 🤯 People who are "very fit" have up to 9 years more brain-desease free added to the end of their life.

  2. Positive affirmations ("self talk") has a measurable impact. Don't put yourself down it's more destructive than you can imagine! Luckily I've been doing this my whole life. But I'm more conscious of it now. Negative thoughts are killer!!
  3. Cold showers (or even just a blast of cold at the end of your shower) to significantly boost your cardio 🥶

The science is unambiguous on this. Cold exposure is good for everything.
