This looks super easy & tasty: 😋

wonder if there’s a Bimby recipe we can use to set and forget this without burning the paste. 💭

@Stephanymtr gave you tried making something similar?

Stephanymtr commented 8 months ago

Interesting! Nope, I have never done or tried anything like this before.

I’ve made Herman before! It’s a ‘plant’ (a bit like a yogurt plant) that grows and has to be used, fed and taken care of. The baked article is good, but Herman soon takes over your life and your fridge too if you’re not kind to him!! 🤪😵‍💫 You may get tired of making and eating Herman after a while😏

There appears to be a recipe for Bimby: Tofu assado de lentilhas vermelhas: https://cookidoo.pt/recipes/recipe/pt-PT/r808440

We can try it when we’re back in Braga. 💭 Or if you have time to try it today @Stephanymtr, go for it! (All the ingredients are in the house) 👌

Stephanymtr commented 8 months ago

Sure! I don't mind making it. Do you think it will hold well in the fridge until you all get back? Or should I freeze it before baking ?

nelsonic commented 8 months ago

Make it and taste it to see if it’s good. Then if there is any left over, freeze it to test if it goes “soggy” in the freezer.

Stephanymtr commented 8 months ago

Okay, sounds good! First part is done! I'll leave it in the fridge overnight and finish it tomorrow.

Cool. Thanks. 🙏 Really hope it works and tastes good. 🤞🏼🥗

Stephanymtr commented 8 months ago

I finished it. Here's what they look like before baking image

After baking imageimage

They came out crispy on the outside and had this soft tofu consistency on the inside. It wasn't as moist as how soft tofus are, but it wasn't fully dry.

I followed the Bimby recipe, and I didn't add anything to the peas, except for salt. I actually liked it! Because of the lack of flavor, it can get a bit dull after having a few.

There were leftovers. They are in the freezer. You can try when you come back!

nelsonic commented 8 months ago

Looks good. Thanks for testing it. Looking forward to tasting the frozen+defrosted. 👌

Finally defrosted and air-fried these! They are delicious! IMG_5981

Definitely worth making again. However I would consider adding herbs/spices 🌿 for added flavour. 💭

Note: only had them in the air fryer for 5 mins at 180*C to re-heat and they ended up quite crispy. 👌
