Inês, if you already have all the laser measurements, why aren’t they already in a GitHub issue? 🤷🏼♂️
@nelsonic As I mentioned above, the measurements are on a hand-drawn drawing which I am tidying up to post.
Current confirmed availability from carpenters on Wednesday 1st July. Awaiting times.
Inês we could get this done
today, why are we delaying it? 🤷
The carpenter was onsite this morning and said he could be back here again today at 16:30.
We could just get layouts finished today and they could have them all installed by next week. ⏳
The example in: https://github.com/dwyl/home/issues/127#issuecomment-649515078 took me 20 mins to make in Inskscape. https://github.com/dwyl/home/blob/master/bathrooms/braga-home-basement-west-shower-stall.svg
I think we could get all of the layouts finished in less than T2h
and give them to the carpenter today.
Chico has confirmed they will be here after the carpenter’s meeting at the council at 15h30 today. I think 16h30 is optimistic but time will tell. I would suggest he’ll be over any time from 16h30 to 18h00 today.
Cool. Let's work towards the 16:30 deadline. Which gives us 1h 50mins to create 3 more layouts. The easiest/simplest one is the east basement shower, do you want to start there?
Layouts created: https://github.com/dwyl/home/tree/master/bathrooms Meeting with carpenters went well. ✅ Expected to have bathrooms finished by end of next week (3rd July).
@iteles you got the email address of the Fenólicos carpenter. Can you please either pass on the email address to me or send the PDF versions of the 3 files to him? (thanks!)
@iteles for reference, this is the "Fenólico Interior" that he was describing: https://multiplacas.pt/produto/hpl-interior
It has a white surface (veneer) but the inside is black.
We did all the measuring and plotted out the phenolic placement on the floor.
Justino took down all the measurements and dropped off the samples of phenolic and trimming for us to review.
We gave him the green light and these will now be dropped off either later today or most likely tomorrow (Saturday) morning, when the installation will also take place.
These have now been installed!
Pictures to follow.
@nelsonic We've been sent the full invoice for this. Do you feel that the work here is "complete" on their part? It's perfect (there's a loose topper and a lopsided L-bracket plus all the stickers are still on the doors and we'll have to get them off and clean ourselves plus they of course left a total mess 🙄 ) but is there anything you feel they need to come back and correct/still do?
Inês, they have been most installed but they are far from finished. They didn't do a particularly good job of cleaning up after themselves and there are still things laying around unfinished. The "acabamentos" (finishing) aren't done yet and I'm not paying a dime of the €5k invoice until it's all done.
@nelsonic The purpose of my question here was exactly for us to make the snag list for them to come and fix before paying the invoice.
As far as I have seen, there is still sealant missing in a few areas and some of the metal trims need to be fixed/properly affixed to the phenolic.
I will go around again today and check everything but please add anything to this list you like or come around with me to collect this :+1:
@iteles I'm very happy to do a walk around and take photos and annotate them all. We need to confirm who is paying Chico (carpenter) for his work installing the panels. (i.e. I don't want a €5k materials invoice and then another €1k "labour" invoice ...)
This week we met with our carpenter again who noted that he’d been in with his colleague to take some preliminary measures for the phenolic shower doors.
I have made sure that these will not be cut before we have had a chance to design out the doors ourselves in situ and have reviewed all the measurements with the carpenters.
I don’t consider this to be a very high priority at the moment but understand that it is high on the list of our main contractor so we can certainly make it a little higher priority as he has been great with us.
The phenolic is limited to 2m in height.
Tasks
date next week to walk throughdesigns with carpenters@nelsonic I have already taken all the measurements for the bathrooms with your laser measuring tool. It’s a rough hand-drawn drawing so I’ll have to tidy it up before posting.
Would you be available Saturday afternoon to pair on the designs? This would be ideal as we can finish out the week’s priorities as planned first. Or is there another date that works better for you?
