Tried everything I could to recover the CAT6 cable:
Cut off both terminals (which were damaged) and painstakingly stripped and crimped new connectors onto both ends. Tested the cable with both testers and devices and nothing. My guess is that itβs faulty (broken by being forced/pulled too hard through the conduitβ¦)
so Iβm going to stop wasting time on this and head to the electronics store and pay for a factory-tested cable. πΈ
This is costing me way more than β¬15 in terms of my time. Going to the Electronics Store to buy the cable now! https://www.aquario.pt/pt/product/ugreen-cabo-de-rede-rj45-cat7-stp-8m-preto-11264
New cable works and was considerably cheaper than online suggested:
Now I need to feed it through the conduit and connect all the pieces. β³
Cable fed through conduit this morning all works as expected. β
Sadly while working on extending the Wifi Network to outside https://github.com/dwyl/home/issues/229 + https://github.com/dwyl/home/issues/207 I noted that the Cat-6 cable is faulty. π’
I'm going to:
But if I'm unable to salvage it, I'm just going to have to:
create anew
cable.Only reason for this being
priority-1
is that I really want to finish #229 now ... π
