Garlando Champion Pro Professional Foosball Table Outdoor:
Also, apparently there's a high-end for these: https://babyfoot-toulet.us/product/the-pure-grey-outdoor-design-foosball-table/

Again, β¬1,037 is an absolute mountain of cash; more than a decent laptop! π» π¬
The white variant is slightly cheaper at β¬991
https://www.kickerkult.de/en/Garlando-G-500-Weatherproof/7109.4
But in the scheme of things, when the β¬58 delivery cost is factored in, is ~4% diff.
Garlando Master Class Outdoor is β¬1,091:

This is definitely an upsell. π¬
But ...
This for me is the selling point that makes this worthwhile for outdoor use. I think the glass will protect the plying surface both from dust and dirty hands. π
There's a company in Lithuania that sells the tables a bit cheaper and crucially doesn't charge a fortune for shipping:
https://www.foos-shop.com/lauko-salygoms.html
E.g: Garlando Open Air Football Table
https://www.foos-shop.com/lauko-salygoms/garlando-open-air-football-table.html
For our needs, I think this table would more than suffice! π
Tried contacting food-shop (Latvia) yesterday... still no reply.
Got canned reply from Latvia "Foos shop" ... doesn't inspire much confidence. π
Garlando Master Class Evo Outdoor Available on Amazon DE with VAT removed at source for biz:
β¬1,073.52 is still a mountain of cash π° for an occasional use item. π but this table is waaaay better than anything I've ever played on. And would be amaze to play on with kids and visitors. π€©
Hmmm ... π€
β¬991
is an eyewatering amount of cash to burn on a foosball table ...
https://www.kickerkult.de/en/Garlando-G-500-Weatherproof/7109.4
This is definitely not a financial investment ... π
@iteles you commented that we don't need a foosball table, and to a certain extent I agree. But then we don't need anything really ... we can be minimalist hobos/monks own nothing and be happy. π
A foosball table, like a ping pong table, surf board or kayak are all nice-to-have leisure items that nobody needs.
A game that encourages getting up off the sofa, outdoors in the fresh air and playing with friends is a fantastic way to get children away from screens IMO.
It feels like it will be crowded in the new area with this. And it's a grand we could spend on other things that would be a bigger bang for the buck. If it was β¬300, I wouldn't raise an objection, but it's not. I don't think it's worth the money given the vast array of other outdoor activities we have when what we need is run-around space and it's a noisy activity too.
But it's your vision and I know there are zero arguments to deter you in getting this done. I'm sure it'll look amazing at the end π
Addressing each of your objections:
myopia
... π
Think of how much money your parents and you have spent on glasses & contact lenses over the years... π πΈ π₯
The lifecycle costs for the average myopic person is $20k
. Yes, it adds up! π°
And that's not factoring the wasted time of having to visit the Optometrist each year. β
it's been proven that being indoors (away from sunlight) is the main cause: youtu.be/6OZwGzWQAfQ
So, I think that spending even TEN Grand on something that kids love playing outdoors is worth it to avoid having eye trouble later in life.

we wouldn't be having this discussion and would have already bought it! I opened this issue to capture the research. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

https://www.kickerkult.de/en/Cork-ball-ecru/7045.1While I agree that we need more "run-around space" ... https://github.com/dwyl/phase-three/issues/116 π We also need more in-the-city outdoor social activities protected from rain. i.e. all-year daylight rain or shine!

Note: top comment is a βduhβ sarcastic one. But, sadly, most parents havenβt understood the importance!
Opening this as a placeholder for research. Need to find the best outdoor Foosball Table that balances quality, (low) maintenance and preferably low purchase cost including shipping to PT.
