Convert Readme into GitBook: #3

nelsonic commented 7 years ago

@jackcarlisle can you pick this up when you are less busy? (no rush. thanks!)

nelsonic commented 7 years ago

@finnhodgkin we still think this is worth pursuing ... let us know if you gents have some XP in GitBook and want to pick this up. 🤔

finnhodgkin commented 7 years ago

@nelsonic I've never used GitBook but the docs seem pretty simple.

Once the screenshots and content are sorted I'll have a go at converting it 👍

nelsonic commented 7 years ago

@finnhodgkin do they no longer use GitBook in F&C ...? 😕

finnhodgkin commented 7 years ago

@nelsonic No they moved the course to a single master reference repo. I think the reasoning was that it's easier to collaborate (raise issues, etc.) on a normal repo than a gitbook.

nelsonic commented 7 years ago

@finnhodgkin GitBook is a GitHub Repo ... so all the benefits of collaboration are the same. 😉 The problem was that each cohort was creating a new GitBook repo instead of extending the existing one. Anyway, thanks for confirming. 👍

Getting on with learn-Lambda for a bit but as soon as our content PR is reviewed I'll hope back and convert this to a gitbook :+1:
