Beginner's Guide to Elm Programming (Udemy Course) ... is it any good? #105

Just got an Ad for this Elm course on Udemy: https://www.udemy.com/beginners-guide-to-elm-programming-build-web-apps image Obviously take the "23h left at this price!" promotion with a pinch of salt, the moment we refreshed the page it says "3 days left at this price!" ... image

The "Curriculum" seems OK: image

We have avoided buying any content from Udemy because they brazenly allow pirated content which hurts the content creators and only benefits people who steal ... 😞

"Udemy actively makes money on the pirated content until they are pressured to take it down" https://medium.com/@robconery/how-udemy-is-profiting-from-piracy-5638b929ffca https://www.theverge.com/2015/11/29/9813780/udemy-pirated-course-copyright-troy-hunt

But this course appears to be from a legitimate person/company ...

Question: has anyone done the course?

If you have purchased and followed the course, what is your feedback?

Should we buy & follow the course just to see if it's any good so we can inform our community?

Are there any specific questions about the course that folk would want answered? Is feedback on the course still wanted?

nelsonic commented 6 years ago

@YvesMuyaBenda did you follow the course?

@nelsonic I am coming back to you, got sidetracked with resources that I think are better preliminary steps, though the it is the best video course for absolute beginners by far, since it uses the simplest possible code samples/projects to illustrate the ideas (how else to illustrate how randomness works in Elm than by buidling a coin tosser app).
