How to chose the node.js modules you will use in your project?

NPM has over a hundred thousand modules and the search is poor... How do you know that a module is any good?

My criteria/heuristic for determining if a module is good is quite simple:

• who wrote it? (is it a reputable person like substack or arya?)
• when did they write it? (is it out of date?)
