Idera is a Private Equity company that buys (formerly) successful Open Source focussed but revenue generating companies/projects and bleeds them dry. This means the existing team of people who work at/for Travis will inevitably leave and the product development will stagnate.

This kids, is what happens when you take Venture Capital money, don't make "enough" profit and run out of cash; you are forced to sell to the cashflow hunters.

Sad times.

So much for what they wrote in the announcement: https://blog.travis-ci.com/2019-01-23-travis-ci-joins-idera-inc

"Open source is at the heart of Travis CI. We will continue to maintain a free, hosted service for open source projects"

And yet, they are capping the number of "Credits" that Open Source projects can have per month ... https://github.com/dwyl/learn-travis/issues/67

Fairly predictable. 🙄 Private Equity Finance Bros gotta maximise their ROI ... 🤦‍♂️ Looks like we're going to need to start migrating our projects to use GitHub Actions (way more complex!)
