As a person that reads primarily knowledge/insight accumulation, I want to pace myself while I'm reading "popular non-fiction" So that I can finish the books faster than I currently am.

  1. The biggest thing that slows you down when reading is "visual regression"; your eye bouncing around all over the page.

Nothing specific to reading text/prose, everything appears to be geared toward music. (which makes a certain amount of sense ... historically a metronome was used to pace music practice)
