Or ... for slightly more money, a Bénéteau Oceanis Clipper 423
that Sleeps 10
and has 3 heads (toilets)!

Obviously there is more maintenance with boats than tiny houses ... but they also command a much higher price!
The cheapest Yacht charter I could find in Portugal is this DUFOUR 32 (1999) that sleeps 4 and is ancient by comparison is €1200/week
to rent in October!! :

A 10-birth 3-head OCEANIS 55 (2016) is €6k/week
(includes skipper)

I'm increasingly thinking of getting into Yacht Chartering ... 😜 ... ⛵ == 💰

Pricing: €150/night
: they basically have "dumb" pricing (any day of the week is always the same price!)
@iteles want to try this for a night or two this month when S is in India? 🛥️ It's obvs not "cheap" ... but it could be a good way to view the land from the water and surrounding area. 😍 Wonder if they require a boat license to rent it ... 💭
Have you thought of a good name for the tiny house once you acquire it?
So many! 😜 But I'm sure the more creative team members will come up with something way better, 💡 so gonna let others name it. 👌
I can't believe I didn't see this issue until now! Probably a good thing we didn't book this at the time 😅
@iteles I shared it with you via Signal as the time was tight. 💬 ⏳ It probably got buried under other higher priority notifications. 🔔 We definitely need a better system. 🙏
@seaneady in case you're still wondering "boatilicious" 😉
But I'm 100% sure someone else
has given their boat that name. 💭
So very happy for someone more creative than me to name it. 👌
This 2009 Bénéteau Oceanis 34 is a total bargain at £42k
(€49,8k
) 🤯

The only thing I think might be worth considering is a second head (bathroom) ... e.g: 1998 Bénéteau Oceanis 411 Clipper
yes, it's 11 years older but has only been used for 2k hours all private and looks new!
PDF: 596949.pdf
the only "downside" of the 411
is that it's 12.5m
which is above the 12m
cut-off for the smallest boats when paying docking in a marina. otherwise it would be my strong pref.
CC: @iteles is it boat time yet...? ⛵ ⏳
Maybe after
we secure the deep-water river frontage land #116 and build a dock, hey? 😉
Paying €500+/month
marina fees for a weekend cruiser (toy?) is nuts! 🥜 🙃
But having our own dock and an "AirBnB" Douro River Cruiser
that easily pays for all expenses of owning a boat ... #NoBrainer
💡
People will gladly pay €150+/night
for a boat that comfortably sleeps 8 people.
https://www.emeraldcruises.eu/river/destinations/europe/portugal
Obviously these river cruises include room and food. But just to give you an idea ... People pay serious money per person to visit the Douro region!
For a good idea of this all-inclusive cruise watch: https://youtu.be/m_dSowc5v5s?&t=784
😄 I would suggest all our money is currently allocated already 🙃 But when this money starts to make more money... boat time!
It's occurred to me that buying a new Tiny House on Wheels is
€40
https://github.com/dwyl/tiny-house/issues/25#issuecomment-1261162765 ...For
€47.5k
you can have a Tiny House on Water that can go anywhere in the world! This Bénéteau Oceanis 311 has more internal space than a 2.5 x 7m Tiny House on Wheels, it can accommodate up to8 people
and can sail on the reservoir ... Seems like a bit of a bargain don't you think? 💭https://www.boat24.com/uk/sailboats/beneteau/beneteau-oceanis-311/detail/517023/
