As a person whose first language is not English
I would like to see subtitles in videos
so that I can understand the content!
While we may be used to seeing "everything" in English (_observer bias_) the fact is that most people in the world don't speak English so we need to plan for multiple language (translation) early to ensure we can include as many people as possible!
Also, let's not forget people who are audio-impaired and know (how to read) english but cannot hear the sound in our videos ... i.e. this is super-important for accessibility!
Note: we (the video creators) aren't going to do the transcription and translation of our videos, we will make the tool(s) to let the community pitch in!

(what can be translated, are there any good examples of videos which have been translated, or which have multi-lingual support? please summarise your findings)
Nǐ hǎo péngyǒu! 😉

English is the 2nd most popular language: (because of all the people who learn it as a second language) see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_total_number_of_speakers also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English-speaking_world and/or watch: https://youtu.be/epBuWRld4ws
If we want to reach a wider audience, we should facilitate (community) translations e.g: https://github.com/doomspork/elixir-school
