This issue has become a lot more "real" and relevant now. ๐ถ
Our niece is almost 2 years old and for the past few months she has been allowed to watch YT videos on her caregiver's phone during meal times or when the housekeeper - who also takes care of her when her parent's are working - needs to focus on a task like ironing/cleaning ...
She has already mastered the YT UI; she scrolls to find her next video to watch, skips adds and even "likes" videos! This is unsurprising isn't given that the YT interface is fairly basic, kids are smart and the housekeeper showed her the "ropes" ... ๐ญ
I'm making it my mission to never allow our son to waste his time on passive entertainment like YouTube "kids" or Netflix, etc. No "judgement" or "criticism" intended of other people/parents each person has their own circumstances. For example if I were a single mother on minimum wage I would totally understand using the iPad/Phone as a "babysitter" ... Just for me/us I want to be hyper vigilant because I want to avoid passive habits wherever possible. ๐ญ
